Latina Psychologist Specializing in Trauma, Attachment & Cultural Identity

Hey! Thank you for being here. My name is Dr. Victoria Navarro and I am a Latina psychologist in private practice. I also teach undergraduate psychology students at City College in the Psychology Department.

I have dedicated my training and practice to talk about taboo topics, understanding the complexity of human behavior, and helping those discover who they are. I have a comprehensive background in providing psychotherapy to college students and adults with extensive histories of trauma in various settings in New York. Settings that I have worked in include hospitals, college counseling centers, and outpatient behavioral health centers. Regarding my theoretical framework, I have extensive training in psychodynamic and relational theories. Additionally, I have professional and research expertise in intimate partner violence and trauma.

I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at Syracuse University. During my undergraduate career, I interned at a Domestic Violence Center, which propelled me into seeking a graduate career in psychology to better understand trauma, mental health, and marginalized identities. After completing my undergraduate degree, I began my graduate education at William Paterson University and received my Master’s and Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology. As part of my degree, I completed my Doctoral Internship at Pace University’s Counseling Center in NYC.

On the weekends, you can find me walking around the park, exploring a new neighborhood or trying new foods with my friends and family.
